Chubb and Chicago State University Alumnus Eric Cockle show support through donation 

The Center for Workforce Equity at Chicago State University is deeply honored and excited to announce a generous donation from Chubb Insurance, a global leader within Insurance, and Eric Cockle, Chicago State University alumnus and Vice President of Personal Lines and Personal Risk Services for Chubb of Illinois.   

Eric Cockle, a 1992 graduate of Chicago State University and an industry expert with over 28 years of experience within Insurance, has been a steadfast mentor and advocate for workforce development and creating inclusive opportunities for emerging Black and Brown professionals within the insurance sector. Known for his passion and enthusiasm, Eric is uniquely positioned to drive meaningful change for the next generation of leaders not only from his alma mater and beyond, but through his own family legacy who is also deeply rooted within the Insurance Industry. In addition to his generous donation, book scholarships were also awarded to five College of Business students, helping to ease financial barriers and support their academic success. Chubb’s support reinforces the importance of committing and investing in diverse talent to building inclusive pathways into high-demand industries like insurance.   

This contribution will enhance the Center for Workforce Equity’s programming, serving serves students, Chicago State University alumni, and industry professionals of every level with a desire to upskill or transition into new career fields. With a focus on workforce insights, executive-level training, and strategic industry engagement, the Center for Workforce will continue to be a hub for upward career mobility and professional growth.
